So.  Just an update. Hopefully a new Gakkou no Sensei chapter next week.  I would have had the TL done last night, but the computer I use when I TL won't boot now.  Pipes under my sink got broke while I was away and flooded my apartment basically.  Fun times.  I'm currently TL'ing it again on my laptop between cleaning up.

We've decided to change how we translate some things.  The way we were translating some things weren't as true to the original as we liked.  We weren't capturing the nuance.  So, with a lot of help from taketori, we've come up with something that we think is more faithful to the original, has better flow, and gives you a chance to see the character tics better.  Enjoy.

Akuno Himitsu Kessha 1

So taketori found this and it looked interesting, so I decided to pick it up.  This won't be a "regular" release.  It's more like a "whenever we get around to it" type project.  It's 1 volume long and it reminds me a little of Watamote so far.

Akuno Himitsu Kessha (Evil Secret Society) is 4-koma about Akuno Asahi.  Akuno appears to be a beautiful and smart high school girl who would go to any length to help her classmates and teachers.  However, hidden in her heart, she harbors a desire to be the leader of an evil secret society.  She was starting to think that her dream would never be fulfilled, but then one day she meets her truant classmate, Hitoyoshi.

So here's chapter 7.  There's only the second omake left in volume 1.  Yay!  We'd like to get a translator for Kotoura-san.  If we don't find one, you can expect long gaps between chapters and probably a hiatus.  You don't need to be some god tier translator, obviously.  I'm not that great myself, so if you're interested and feel up to the challenge, send me an e-mail or drop by our irc.

First, a big thank you to Zeruel for joining us as a typesetter.  He put up with a lot of my bad cleaning and laziness.  Without him this release was probably another week away.

So it's come to this again.  I'm super busy with everything and our cleaner is MIA.  Taketori will soon be busy as well; we need people to help us out.  We need the following:

Cleaners, you can choose to work on Gakkou no Sensei, Kotoura-san, or both.  Please know how to clean.  You don't need actual experience, but I don't have time to teach you how to do it properly either. 

Typesetters, you can choose to work on Aiura, Kotoura-san, Gakkou no Sensei, or both.  Same thing here, you don't need actual previous experience, but you must know what to do and how to do it and do it well.

Heroes was a TV series featuring a cast of people who discovered they had supernatural powers.  Two of the main characters were Japanese; man named Hiro and his friend Ando.





Scanners:
A movie about a guy with ESP hunting others like him
The famous head exploding scene was referenced in the Kotoura-san anime.  There he successfully bent a spoon, if I remember correctly.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time:
A girl learns she can leap backwards in time.  It was a originally a novel by Yasutaka Tsutsui.  It spawned a whole bunch of adaptations including multiple live action films, animated films, manga, and a TV series.  You'll find references to it everywhere.

Recruiting a cleaner

Recruiting a cleaner for Kotoura-san.  I recently found a proofreader, so hopefully there won't be v3's still with mistakes from now on.  I'll have a script done this weekend and a release sometime next week.  Hopefully earlier in the week.

Surprise release.  I'll be doing this series as well.

A couple of the lines without speech bubbles were in super tiny font.  I'm pretty sure I got the lines right, but it's hard to be absolutely sure since I can't actually make out the kanji.  Just a vague shape of what I think it is.

Kotoura is still being worked on.  Just did this since I lost a little motivation.  You know how it is, doing something you already did once.

I really should proofread more.  Missing a word from the script can change the whole meaning of a sentence.  Page 10 Iwasawa's line should probably be more like "How can you call that a good match?" or something.

Here it is, a little late.  Blame 80 hour work weeks.  I like manga Yuriko better right now.  Manga Muroto is a little boring.  I keep calling him Dan, from Bamboo Blade, in my head.  Maybe it's the height and the weird face he usually has.

Let's all lament the end of another season of Minami-ke.  I can't say I'm looking forward to many shows for the Spring lineup.  Some of them sound like they could be interesting, I hope they pull it off.  Yahari Ore No Seishun Love Come Wa Machigatteiru, Red Data Girl, Hataraku Maousama... They could be good.  It always depresses me to see how many harem stuff is still being made, though -_-.  Guess there's always Railgun and the Lucky Star spinoff too.  Oreimo... Well, we'll see.  Maybe I'm getting too old for anime.

If you use a reader site, I suggest you to use batoto.net.  Most other readers make the images super blurry and grainy.

Quite the different clubroom, eh?  Included is an extra page from chapter 1 I forgot to put in.  Next chapter shouldn't take too long it seems.  Minimal redraws and not a ton of text.

I don't know about you all, but I've never seen bullying as bad as you find in manga and anime.  These kids are straight up sociopaths.

Telescopic vision is what I went with for Yuriko's mom. 遠くを視る力 is the actual line.  Seeing over distances power is basically what it says, so I assume she could only see far away things.  I chose the more general term, instead of something like farsight, in case it's revealed there were other aspects to her ability.


"...Listen up, mongrel. This club is mine. You know what I do to dogs who won't stop their annoying barking in my garden...? I crush them."  Sena makes me happy.

Schedule

You can probably expect releases every 1 to 2 weeks.  It's me vs. 4 volumes of awesome reaction faces, and I work full shifts 6 days a week.  Not to mention I just picked up Heart of the Swarm and I just got addicted to Tera.  Don't expect much in the cleaning department.  I'm honestly probably going to continue to noob it up with copious amounts of outer glow.  I'm a beginner translator so that really takes a lot of work.  By the time I get to cleaning the raws and redrawing, I don't feel like spending much time on it.  Hopefully the typos and errors will go down when I actually proofread it before uploading.

I might pick up Kiniro Mosaic as well.  It's a 4-koma as well and another group was doing it, but hasn't released a new chapter in a long time.  I have some raws for it, but they're kind of crappy.  If I do it I'll order the tanks.  The anime is slotted for the Summer season.
